Zandvoort National provides Yates with 5th Jetta Club win

Jetta Club veteran James Yates racked up yet another win at the Zandvoort National track today. This brings his total of Jetta Club wins to 5, with no doubt many more to come.

Yates lead from pole off the grid, but had to hold off the advances of Simon Trendell and Mika Korkeamäki to take the win.

Simon Trendell ran close to Yates before outbreaking himself at the hairpin, allowing Mika Korkeamäki through into second place, dropping Trendell to 3rd.

Andrew Cherry crashing out of 4th place

Andrew Cherry’s race came to and end with a spin into the barriers in the first half of the race. This allowed Julian Dyer through into 4th position, where he finished 24.700 seconds behind the leader.

Dyer was followed by Michael Jaap in 5th, Rick Fowler in a solid 6th, and Michael White in 7th

Yates took the win with just a 1.081 second cushion over Korkeamäki, who also took the fastest lap of the race with a 1:26.296 time.
