James Yates leads the field at Silverstone Southern

Racers at Silverstone Southern start

James Yates took a commanding victory at the Shark Racing Jetta Club event at the Silverstone Southern layout.

In second place Jamie Wilson followed Yates and finished 7.110 seconds behind the race winner.

In third place was Steven Jones who had to start from 13th on the grid after a poor qualifying. Using his previous race winning experience, he made light work of passing the other competitors, including Stephen Nelson who finished in 5th place.

Simon Trendell finished in 4th place after starting from the front row of the grid, followed by Stephen Nelson who had a late spin and had to defend hard to keep Julian Dyer behind him on the last lap of the 20 lap event.

Fastest lap of the race went to Steven Jones with an impressive time of 1:20.628s.

Yates crossed the line after 20 laps with a fastest lap time of 1:20.713, on his 3rd tour of the circuit.
