Blake Townend wins first Jetta Club race at Silverstone International

First Shark Jetta Race

Blake Townend won the first Shark Racing even at the Silverstone International race track.

Townend started second and battled hard against James A. Barrington to take the lead on lap 12 of the 15 lap race. 11 drivers joined the session which saw times tumble in qualifying, and bumpers get bent during the race.

Most incidents occurred through the fast Maggots section of the circuit, often with cars 2 wide through the first part of the complex.

The close and fast paced racing would ultimately claim someone, and on lap 7 Ian D Smythe and Julian Dyer (aka, me) made contact, causing terminal suspension damage.

Townend however had no such problems, as he lead Barrington over the line by 7.043 seconds, with Andrew Stanzl rounding out the top 3.

Blake Townend crosses the line and takes the victory.
