James A. Barrington took the Shark Racing Jetta Club Infineon Cup event win from Steven Jones with a bold overtaking move on lap 3 of the 18 lap race.
Jones kept in touch with Barrington right to the end of the race, with only 2.778 seconds between them as Barrington crossed the line.
On the penultimate corner of the track, Barrington slipped up the inside of Jones who was caught napping on the ourside of the turn. He then had to hold off Simon Trendell, who went on to pass Jones on lap 4.
Jones fought back and passed Trendell on lap 7 of the race, and proceeded to pull away to catch back up with Barrington.
In 4th place, and in his first Jetta event was Tero Dahlberg in his stunning new livery. He diced with a hard charging Zanoah Wilson who later spun off at the first corner.
Steve Nelson started in a lowly 9th position, but fought hard to get himself into 5th place as others were caught up in incidents.
Barrington crossed the line to take the chequered flag as well as a fastest lap of 1:27.659 on his 9th tour of the circuit.
