Jetta club regular Mika Korkeamäki had to defend from a hard charging Adam Miles to take the win at Silverstone International.

This is the second win Korkeamäki has taken in a row, cementing him as one of the fastest drivers to race in the Shark Racing Jetta club. Miles was just 01.321 second behind at the finish, in a race which saw the two banging panels as they fought for the victory.

Korkeamäki secured pole with a time of 1:37.424, just under three hundredths of a second faster than Miles. Korkeamäki and pulled out a gap, but towards the later stages of the race Miles started to catch up. Korkeamäki had a big moment going into Copse, after getting a wheel on the grass under braking. This put Miles right up behind him for the final third of the race.

However the two drivers came together as Miles lost the back end going into Maggots, and slammed into the rear of Korkeamäki’s VW TDI Jetta. Both cars had slight damage, but rejoing the circuit with Korkeamäki still leading and Miles just a couple of seconds behind him.

The drivers were within 2 seconds of eachother as they entered the final laps, but it was Korkeamäki who came through to win by 01.321 seconds. Fastest lap went to Korkeamäki with a time of 1:37.442.

Elsewhere in the field, Michael Messenger finished third with Julian Dyer and Phillip Ellis in 4th and 5th place after a chaotic battle. All the drivers had incidents at Priory a couple of laps from the end, resulting in damage on all three cars.

Jetta Club racer Mika Korkeamäki has taken a light to flag victory at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. Sporting a new paint scheme for this event, the veteran racer took pole position, the race win and the fastest lap.

The Scandinavian racer was 0.172 seconds faster than James A Barrington in qualifying, with a time of 53.797. Away from the line Korkeamäki quickly broke away from the pack.

Jetta Club regulars Steven Jones and James A Barrington fought hard all race, with Jones moving ahead of Barrington on lap 21. A big sideways moment from Barrington created a wall of tyre smoke, allowing Jones to pass.

However, Barrington, ever the racer, fought back hard and put Jones under pressure in the last 10 laps of the race. The pressure was clearly showing on Jones as he pushed his car over the limit on several corners as he tried to keep Barrington at bay.

On the final lap of the race, Barrington got a run on Jones through the last corner, and held a Matt Neil-esque tight line on the inside of the turn. There was rubbing of paintwork as Barrington slipped up the inside of Jones and just beat him by 8 hundredths of a second.

By this time Korkeamäki was long gone, winning by 12.015 seconds over second place man Barrington. He took the fatest lap of the race with a time of 53.818s, only a few hundredths slower than his qualifying time.

Jamie Wilson and previous race winner Michael Messenger finished in 4th and 5th respectively, with Julian Dyer and Danny Hinchin ten seconds further down the road.

Voting has started for the next race, so get voting for the track you want to race on next week.

After 20 dramatic laps, racer Michael Messenger has won the Shark Racing Jetta Club race at Phoenix Road.

It was Simeon Trendell that took the early lead, but later spun off handing the lead to Steven Jones. However, late in the trace Jones dropped out, setting up a 3 way fight between Michael Messenger, Julian Dyer and Henri Vierumäki for the top 3 places.

Trendell lead from pole, with Jones staying with him in the early part of the race. Many drivers had difficulty negotiating the first corner, with many driver running wide. It was Trendell who lost out most with his spin, letting 3 cars through in front of him.

It was on lap 17 that Steven Jones dropped out of the race, transforming it in to a challenge for the 3 remaining driver. Messenger, Dyer and Vierumäki traded places right up until the final lap, which saw Dyer and Vierumäki cross the line just a couple of hundredths between them. It was Vierumäki who came out on top, securing second place 03.852 seconds behind Messenger.

After 20 laps Messenger crossed the line to take a well earned, if rather lucky victory.

It was Steven Jones however that took the fastest lap before dropping out, with a time of 1:09.197.

Voting has started for next week’s race, so please get voting!

Shark Racing Jetta Club regular has won the Summit Point Jefferson even by a huge 27.555s margin from Jamie Wilson, who was in several intense battles from start to finish.

Jamie Wilson fought with both James Yates, and Julian Dyer throughout the race, resulting in a last corner pass around the outside of Dyer on the last lap

Jones had qualified on pole with a time of 56.791s, with James A Barrington just 0.057s slower behind him.

After a strong start, Jones held off Barrington until the second place driver fell to the back of the field after a penalty. This left Jones with a healthy lead which he build on as other drivers battled eathother behind him.

Jamie Wilson passed Julian Dyer early on in the race, but after a small off 3rd place driver James Yates and Wilson started to fight hard for position. This allowed Dyer to catch up with the pair of them, putting Yates under more pressure as he tried to find a way past Wilson.

Yates eventually spun off the track, leaving Dyer to try and catch Wilson in the late stages of the race. On the last couple of laps the two traded places, and the two drivers were side by side as they went in to the tight hairpin at the end of the track.

Dyer was on the inside as they went in to the corner, but carrying just a little too much speed the drivers made contact, with Dyer doing a half spin, allowing Wilson to take the 2nd place behind Jones.

Jones took the victory, but it was Barrington who took the fastest lap with a time of 56.433s.

Voting has started for the next race, so let us know which track you want to be racing at next week!

After taking pole with a time of 1:38.749, which was nearly 3 tenths faster than second place driver Mika Korkeamäki, Gooden controlled the race from start to finish.

As the cars lead into the first corner, Korkeamäki got a tap from Steven Jones, and he lost several places. At the end of the first lap, it was Rory King who was in second place, and he stuck with Gooden as the race progressed.

Korkeamäki had to fight his way back to the front after his early spin, passing several cars including Henri Vierumäki, passing on the inside as they went through the second hairpin. Korkeamäki would eventually finish just outside of the podium in 4th place.

Simon Trendell just beat Korkeamäki to third, with only 4 tenths of s second separating them as they went over the line. Kevin Savoie finished in a solid 5th position, after starting from 8th on the grid.

James A. Barrington also had to make a recovery drive from the back after he fell off the track early on in the race. He finished in 7th behind Henri Vierumäki after passing Scott Arrington, Andrew Cherry and Julian Dyer as he made his way back up the field.

Racer Mika Korkeamäki took a commanding victory at the Barber Short A circuit today. A strong qualifying put him in pole position for the race, with a time of 1:07.182.

Tero Dehlberg was denied another pole position, with a time of 1:07.434 only being good enough for second place on the grid.

Dahlberg looked strong in second place, before a spin put him down to 6th place, where he ultimately finished the race. Simon Trendell finished where he started, in a solid 3rd position.

Wyatt Gooden drove through the field in a similar fashion to his race at VIR earlier in the year, after starting from 7th on the grid. A clean move into turn one on Trendell put him in second place, where he closed on the race leader to finish just 03.361 behind.

Henri Vierumäki took advantage of other drivers mistakes to get into 4th position, followed by Steven Jones who started at the back of the grid and finished in 5th position, his pace from other races evident in his result.

After 22 laps of the Barber Short A circuit, Mika Korkeamäki took the finish and fastest lap time of 1:07.373 – a truly dominant performance.

James A. Barrington has won the 25 lap event at the Shark Racing Jetta Club race on the Summit Point Short circuit. It was a dramatic race which saw close racing and a huge accident for Tero Dahlberg as he fought for the lead.

Despite Dahlberg qualifying on pole yet again, it was Barrington who got the better start and was leading early on in the race, with Dahlberg desperately trying to fight back and retake the lead.

On lap 14 as Dahlberg came along side Mika Korkeamäki as they battled for 3rd position. They collided, sending Dalberg into a spectacular crash, and both drivers out of the race.

This left James Yates and Simon Trendell, both previous race winners, to battle with Barrington for 1st, and each other for 2nd and 3rd place. On lap 21, Yates passed Trendell and went on to take second place, just 03.490 behind the leader.

Trendell finished in 3rd, with Andrew Cherry in a strong 4th position. Julian Dyer picked up the 5th spot, as other drivers struggled to keep on the challenging track for 25 laps. Petteri Kotovaara recovered to 6th, followed by Michael J Passingham.

Barrington took not only the win, but also fastest lap with a time of 1:06.145.

Voting is up for the next race which will be on Tuesday the 15th of June, at 8pm UK time (GMT +1). Voting has started, so let us know which of our selection of track you would like to race on!

A good qualifying session for Jones gave him the perfect opportunity to take another win – and he grabbed it with both hands. He did not have it all his own way though, as he had to fight off Aidas Staškevičius to take the victory.

After a chaotic start which saw several drivers have incidents, Jones pulled out a 2 second lead over his rivals.

Simon Trendell worked his way up in to second place, overtaking Staškevičius and Dahlberg early on. However, Trendell retired on lap 8, handing second and third back to Staškevičius and Dahlberg respectably.

James A. Barrington and James Yates had a great recovery drive after incidents at the start of the race, with both driver sticking together and scything through the field. Yates would finish in 7th, closely followed by Barrington in 8th position.

Further up the field, steady laps by David Polczer and Julian Dyer earned them 4th and 5th position each, followed by Mika Båsk in 6th position.

Jones took the finish 2.195 seconds clear of Aidas Staškevičius, and also took the fastest lap on the penultimate tour of the circuit with a time of 1:24.102.

We had an excellent turn out of 22 drivers this week, so please keep coming to the club for fast, fun racing. Voting for the next track is up, so get them in now!
